The legal protection and effective utilization of products and technologies we develop are essential for the sustained growth and advancement of Ƶlogo, and for stable supply of products. To ensure stable delivery of our solutions, including pharmaceuticals, to patients and the people in the daily living domain, Ƶlogo strategically implements various initiatives regarding intellectual property, such as patents, designs, and trademarks.
Ƶlogo outlines its business plan for generating solutions in the fields of dementia and oncology, establishing the hhc ecosystem through collaboration with other industries and groups, and achieving the global health goals. To support our business activities based on these initiatives, we assign intellectual property personnel to each domestic and international region, conducting intellectual property activities in collaboration with R&D and business functions worldwide. Additionally, besides drug discovery, Ƶlogo has recently expanded its focus to new R&D domains, such as digital solutions, advancing intellectual property initiatives across a wide range of sectors, including AI and data science. 1. Drug Creation Activities and Intellectual Property Strategies
Ƶlogo has established its intellectual property strategy in close collaboration with its drug discovery activities based on Human Biology, supporting these discovery initiatives primarily in the fields of dementia and oncology also from perspective of a proprietary right.
We file patent applications and secure rights to ensure appropriate protection for our pharmaceutical products comprising diverse modalities, including low-molecular-weight compounds, antibodies, and ADC (antibody-drug conjugates). In addition to innovative active pharmaceutical ingredients, we also obtain patents for our newly created crystals, usages, manufacturing methods, formulations, and intermediates found in our drug discovery processes, aiming to build an optimal patent portfolio. Additionally, we support strategic drug discovery activities by filing patent applications or maintaining secrecy for our in-house developed technologies, including screening methods and biomarker measuring methods, obtained through drug discovery activities.
2. hhc Ecosystem and Intellectual Property Activities
Ƶlogo promotes its business activities by appropriately controlling intellectual property risks in each business domain within the hhc ecosystem. To support all life stages, from people’s daily lives to healthcare, we are working to leverage our intellectual property through collaborations with various business partners. Additionally, in our digital health business, such as the development of digital solutions (NouKNOW*1, Click-Karte*2, Sasaeru*3) and AI driven technologies (MCI prediction AI, AI for predicting the natural course of symptoms, treatments, and efficacies), we aim to ensure appropriate intellectual property protection by considering the importance of these technologies and their competitive advantages, based on intellectual property trends in the digital sector.
